Meet the therapist

Nick Lanz, MM, LPMT, MT-BC

I have been a licensed and credentialed music therapist since 2023 and opened my private practice in Bloomington-Normal in 2026. I received my Masters of Music in Music Therapy from Illinois State University and completed my internship at the VA Illiana Healthcare System in Danville, IL. I also hold bachelor’s degrees from the University of Akron (Go Zips) in Akron, OH in biology and piano.

Music has been an integral part of my life from a young age. Throughout the years since age five I've had the opportunity to learn and study piano, guitar, voice and trumpet. I thoroughly enjoy bringing my passion for music into the work I do. Music carries many rejuvenating and restorative qualities, and it is my hope to bring healing and joy to whatever your circumstances in life may be.
